IRVING, N.Y. (AP) - At least Merwin Pierce Junior dressed for
the occasion. Authorities in western New York charge the
tuxedo-wearing Pierce was drunk when he took a riding mower for a
late-night spin. Chautauqua County Sheriff Joseph Gerace says his
deputies were responding to a report of an intoxicated person. They
say they found Pierce riding away on the mower. Now, charges
against him include felony drunken driving. That's because
authorities say he has a previous drunk driving conviction.
