ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - President Bush has nominated Alexandria attorney Anthony Trenga to a federal judgeship in the Eastern District of Virginia.

Trenga specializes in litigation and trial practice with the Washington law firm of Miller and Chevalier. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton and his law degree from the University of Virginia.

Senators Jim Webb and John Warner issued a joint statement Thursday praising Bush for nominating Trenga, who was one of five lawyers the senators had recommended for the federal bench in a letter to the president in June 2007.
