Pepper's spicy music strikes a pleasant chord once again

Just in time for summer comes Pepper's "Pink Crustaceans and Good Vibrations."
Originally from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, the trio has become famous for their reggae grooves and lyrics scandalous enough to make rappers blush. Even with their constant touring and appearances on the Vans Warped Tour, Pepper has been able to release three albums on Volcom Entertainment and two more on their own Law Records.
What really sets Pepper apart from other bands is their ability to combine all of their influences. One of the most obvious influences on Pepper's music is Sublime. Both bands share the same emotional, flowing vocals and fusion of rock and reggae that can only be attributed to life in Southern California and long days on the beach.
Pepper's waves and waves of reverb-drenched guitar on "Freeze," mixed with the dance-hall-esque keyboards of "Musical 69" can simply overpower any listener trying not to dance. Another standout track, "Things That You Love" can whisk the listener off to sleep while he or she is still swaying to the genuine reggae rhythm.
The band really shows its versatility on tracks like "Do Something" and "Blackout," proving that they can also rock.
If you do not enjoy an instant good time, this album is most certainly not for you. For Pepper to release an album this good is almost overkill.
