Boston's Ramirez out
With sore knee.

SEATTLE (AP) - Boston Red Sox skipper Terry Francona scratched Manny Ramirez from the lineup in Seattle after the veteran slugger told him about a sore knee. Ramirez says it has been bothering him for about a month. Francona says he doesn't know if Ramirez will be back for Friday's series opener against the New York Yankees at Fenway Park. Ramirez calls himself "day-to-day at this point." Jacoby Ellsbury left field against the Mariners.
