The only problem with There for Tomorrow's latest EP: It's too short!

Date published: 8/21/2008

BY GILLAN LUDLOW

Though their self-titled EP hit stores only on Aug. 5, There for Tomorrow already have been garnering attention this summer.

The young band digitally released the EP in July and have shared stages with fellow up-and-comers All Time Low, Hit the Lights and Valencia.

The band's second music video, for the catchy "No More Room to Breathe," has been featured several times recently on the college-focused mtvU network.

One of the best songs on the album is "Remember When (Used to Be Used to It)." The song is slower than the rest, with easily relatable lyrics about waiting for someone and wondering if the mess they're in will get better.

A couple of the songs on this album are actually on a previously released EP, "Pages" (the leadoff single and the band's first mtvU music video). "Addiction and Her Name" is one of those songs. This song is upbeat and fast, and will stick inside listeners' heads for quite a while.

There really are few complaints about this album. The vocals are loud and clear, avoiding a problem that most upcoming bands have. The instruments can be heard, but they aren't so loud that they drown out singer Maika Maile's vocals.

The lyrics are well-written, and the band doesn't stick to one tempo or beat.

The only problem I did have with the EP was that it was too short. Seven songs really didn't satisfy me, and left me wanting more.

I recommend this album to anyone who likes bands such as Mayday Parade, My Chemical Romance, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus or any other rock or alternative band.
