March 23, 2009 12:00 am

If you plan on traveling after June 1st be ready for some new rules. It's when the second half of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative kicks in requiring a passport to leave and re-enter the U.S. by air, land or sea.

Newly added to the list are the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, South America and Central America.

To help people get ready, Kathy Boule with the U.S. Postal Service says passport fairs are being held this Saturday in Fredericksburg, Stafford, Bowling Green and Kilmarnock. Get more on times and locations at www.usps.com/passport/welcome.htm?from=home_lgpromo&page=applyforpassport.
