New Fire Chief for Caroline County

Chief David E. Layman is named the new Fire-EMS Chief for Caroline. The 45 year old is a 29 year veteran of fire service. He comes to the county from a position with the City of Newport News.
Layman is also a member of the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Task Force II and has been deployed to several major disasters.
On August 25th, the Board of Supervisors will officially create the Fire-EMS Chief's position and define the job's responsibilities.
A public reception to welcome the new chief to the county takes place on August 12th. It will be held before the Emergency Services Commission's evening meeting which starts at 7:00.
