ST. CHARLES, Ill. (AP) - Health officials say three Illinois
schools are closed and some will remain closed for several days
because of flu-like illness.
St. Charles East High School, in the Chicago suburb of St.
Charles, will be closed through Friday after more than 900 students
stayed home sick. Officials say the students showed a variety of
symptoms but there are no confirmed cases of swine flu.
According to a spokeswoman for the Illinois Department of Public
Health, Farmersville Grade School in Montgomery County was also
closed. And an elementary school was closed after dozens of
students called in sick or went home with flu-like symptoms on
Monday.
