Spotsylvania County
Two contested board of supervisors seats and one school board seat in Spotsylvania County have all been won by the incumbents. Benjamin Pitts hangs onto his post in the Battlefield District with 54 percent of the vote against challenger Chris Yakabouski. In the Lee-Hill District, Gary Skinner soundly defeated Donald McGuire with 57 percent of the vote. Linda Wieland holds onto the Battlefield schools district over Baron Braswell with a win by less than one percent.
Stafford County
Four board of supervisors seats up for grabs in Stafford County, two easily won; by incumbent Paul Milde in the Aquia District and Mark Dudenhefer in Garrisonville. Susan Stimpson wins the Falmouth district with 50 percent of the vote. Also a major upset for incumbent Joe Britto in the Hartwood district. He is defeated by challenger Gary Snellings with 54 percent of the vote to his 36 percent. Stephanie Johnson wins the school board's Aquia district with more than 2200 votes. A 29-million-dollar parks and recreation bond referendum, that will fund a number of projects, also wins passage with 53 percent of the voters.
Orange County
Two opposed board of supervisors seats in Orange County Tuesday. Grover C. Wilson, Jr. wins in District Four over Teri Pace and Ronald Matalavage. In a close race, Shannon Clore Abbs beats out R. Mark Johnson by less than a one percent margin. Jerry Bledsoe wins the school board seat in district four beating out Todd Hensley.
King George County
A sole contested race in King George County for the James Monroe District Board of Supervisors seat. John P. LoBuglio beats out James Howard and Billy McCoy with 46 percent of the vote.
Culpeper County
The Stevensburg District in Culpeper saw the only challenged board of supervisor's race. William "Bill Chase wins against F. DeWayne Payne, Jr. and Gardiner S. Mulford with 46 percent of the vote. Two school board seats there see competition. Elizabeth Hutchins beats Richard Goff in the Cedar Mountain District by a 45 percent margin and Robert Houck defeats John Cerio in the West Fairfax District with 67 percent of the vote.
Fredericksburg City
City of Fredericksburg voters elect Sheriff Paul Higgs along with Commissioner of Revenue Lois Jacob and Treasurer G.M. Haney, for another term. The only challenged race involves incumbent LaBravia Jenkins for the Commonwealth Attorney's post. She defeats challenger Joseph Hicks with 52 percent of the vote.
