UPDATE TO LARCENIES:
From Daily Crime Reports posted on November 10 and 18, 2009: A number of commuters
reported that they returned to their vehicles in a downtown VRE lot and discovered that
windows had been broken and items of value had been stolen from the car interiors. A suspect
was subsequently identified and determined to be involved in the incidents that occurred on
both dates. On November 19, Timothy Tolson, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested and charged
with eleven counts of larceny with the intent to distribute, petit larceny, obtaining money
through false pretenses, and vandalism. Some of the stolen goods have been recovered. Two
additional suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY:
Walker Grant Middle School, 1 Learning Ln, 11/16 10:00 am. A teacher reported that a large
quantity of cash was stolen from her purse. A juvenile student has been identified as the
offender and the matter has been referred to juvenile intake authorities.
Madison’s Salon, 1255 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 11/19 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm. A resident reported that
her earrings were stolen after she removed her jewelry to have her hair done. The investigation
is ongoing.
Kohls, 1571 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 11/18 1:00 pm – 11/19 4:50 pm. An employee reported that
a license plate was stolen from her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
ARRESTS:
John Penn, 41, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Prince William County
charging him with assault and battery.
Charles Barton, 36, of Partlow was arrested on a warrant from Spotsylvania charging him with
domestic assault and battery.
