DENVER (AP) - The Denver Broncos may have turned a corner. The
New York Giants continued their midseason slide.
The Broncos snapped a four-game losing streak and stayed in the
AFC West title picture by dismantling the Giants 26-6. The Giants,
who won their first five games, have now dropped five of six and
are two games back of Dallas in the NFC East.
Kyle Orton drove the Broncos on six scoring drives. Orton
completed 18 of 28 for 245 yards and a touchdown. Matt Prater
kicked four field goals as the 7-and-4 Broncos moved within a
half-game of AFC West-leading San Diego.
The Giants are going backward. The 6-and-5 Giants are two games
back of NFC East-leading Dallas. The six points they scored against
Denver is the fewest by a Giants team in five years.
