Authorities are investigating what's described as apolice-involved shooting along Tackett's Mill Road along the Stafford-Fauquier county line.
WFLS News has learned that deputies from both Fauquier and Stafford Counties responded to a call of a possible DUI near Tackett's Mill and Garrisonville Roads. When they arrived the suspect ran to a nearby residence. As deputies attempted to apprehend the suspect he pulled a knife wounding one of the deputies. One of them fired his weapon killing the suspect.
The deputy sustained superficial wounds.
State Police are now handling the investigation.
