by - posted Jun 1 2013 7:21AM
On May 30, 2013, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested Randall Mason Young, age 68, of Gordonsville on five indictments issued from an Orange County Grand Jury.  The charges were four felony counts of Indecent Liberties with a Minor while in a Supervisory Role and one felony count of the Use of a Communication System to Facilitate Certain Offenses Involving Children .  Mr. Young was arrested at his home in Gordonsville without incident and is currently being held in the Central Virginia Regional Jail under no bond.
The investigation was initiated following a report from Orange County Public Schools in February.  The school division’s report resulted from its own internal investigation of a complaint against Mr. Young, who was employed as a bus driver at the time, according to Yvonne Dawson, director of human resources for Orange County Public Schools.  Mr. Young’s employment was terminated by the School Board on February 7.
Questions related to the indictments against Mr. Young may be directed to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.  Questions related to the school division’s investigation and its policies and procedures may be directed to Ms. Dawson at (540) 661‐4550.
