Police say one person is dead after being struck by a Virginia Railway Express train in the Fairfax Station area this afternoon.
Manassas train 325 was stopped on the tracks between Burke Centre and Manassas Park as authorities investigated the fatality. Buses were sent to pick up the stranded passengers. As a result of a train hitting what is believed to be a trespasser on the tracks, Manassas trains 331 and 335 are cancelled. Trains 327, 329, 333 and 337 stop in Burke, where buses take riders to their final destination.
