TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - New York Yankees left-hander Andy Pettitte moved closer to pitching in a game after another positive throwing session.
Pettitte made 25 pitches off a bullpen mound at Steinbrenner Field Monday, two days after his second simulated game.
Pettitte and Yankees pitching coach Larry Rothschild, who was not at the session because he was with the team for Monday night's spring training game in Miami against the Marlins, will discuss what the pitcher's next step will be. Options include Pettitte pitching in a minor league game or another simulated game on Thursday.
