A measure headed to the House could make military families here and around the beltway breathe a little easier.
It would give the Veterans Affairs secretary more authority to fire or demote senior executives. It comes as the number of VA facilities being investigated nationwide for problems have expanded to 26. There have been allegations that some vets died while waiting to be treated.
