Police ID Suspicious Person

by Frank Hammon posted Mar 22 2012 1:46PM
A series of incidents that began a week ago has Fredericksburg Police on alert in one neighborhood. It started with a knock on a resident's door asking about children and  he was looking for two who had thrown rocks at him.
Police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe says the man in his 20's with blond hair had left the Idlewild neighborhood by time officers arrived. Earlier in the day the same person followed two girls around the shops in the neighborhood. However, Police didn't learn of this until this Wednesday when the same man approached one of the girls asking about her friend.
Since then there have been two more reported incidents with the man telling the story of having rocks thrown at him.
Thursday afternoon, detectives received a citizen’s tip about a man who matched the description provided by the witnesses in the suspicious incidents.

The tip led detectives to a home in Idlewild, where investigators made contact with a 19-year-old man who acknowledged that he was the person who was involved in the reported encounters.

The 19-year-old man volunteered to accompany the detectives to Police Headquarters.
