The University of Mary Washington celebrates homecoming this weekend, with many alumni coming into town tonight, but the big sporting events, tailgating and parties are this weekend.
Fredericksburg Tourism Director Karen Hedelt says it's good for the city. Even though there is lots to do on and around the campus, many former students want to do more. She says lots of them want to make their way downtown to local haunts they enjoyed while they were in school here and shop on the way. So, it's a boost for local stores, hotels and restaurants.
In addition to the people this weekend, more than 3,000 extra students live and work in and around Fredericksburg while classes are in session.

Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary says Dominic Adesanya of Bel Air, Maryland, is in custody of the U.S. Marshals Service for previous outstanding warrants. He has also been charged with four misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and unlawful entry.
