Rape | Abduction *ARREST – On April 2nd, following an extensive investigation, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit  and Robbery Unit identified the suspect involved in the rape and abduction incident which was reported to have occurred in the area of Maplewood Dr and Peakwood Ct in Manassas on March 28th. The accused is a juvenile and was taken into custody by Prince William County police officers and members of the Northern Virginia Gang Task Force at his residence in Manassas. A search warrant was also executed without incident at the suspect’s address. During the rape incident from March 28th, the accused took the victim’s cell phone and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area. Detectives further learned that the suspect involved in the rape incident was also responsible for the robbery and the attempted robbery of the Maplewood Barbershop from March 1st and March 28th. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with multiple offenses relating to these three cases.

Rape | Abduction (Previously Released) On March 28th at 11:15PM, police responded to the area of Maplewood Dr and Peakwood Ct in Manassas (20111) for a rape. The victim, a 31 year old woman of Herndon, reported to police that she was walking to a residence of a known acquaintance in the above area when she was approached by an unknown man. The man displayed a handgun and forced the victim into a secluded area behind a townhome on nearby Vermont Pl where he then raped her. Following the encounter, the man fled the area on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital. A police K-9 and helicopter were used in the search for the suspect.
 
Attempted Armed Robbery (Previously Released) On March 28th at 12:46PM, police responded to the Maplewood Barbershop located at 8350 Shoppers Sq in Manassas (20111) for an attempted robbery. Witnesses reported to police that an unknown man entered the business and displayed a handgun. The man then ordered everyone to leave the store before being confronted by an employee in the rear of the business. The employees screamed causing the suspect to flee. No injuries were reported and no money was taken. A police K-9 and helicopter were used in the search of the suspect.
 
Armed Robbery (Previously Released) On March 1st at 11:58AM, police responded to the Maplewood Barber Shop located at 8350 Shoppers Sq in Manassas (20111) for an initial report of two suspicious persons in the area. Employees of an adjacent business reported to dispatch that two unknown, masked men were acting suspicious outside of the target business. The men then reportedly entered the business and fled on foot a short time later. Officers arrived at the target business and determined that an attempted robbery actually took place. Employees of the target business reported that the same two men entered the business where one of the men displayed a handgun and demanded money. The men got impatient waiting for the money and took one of the employee’s cell phones before fleeing the area. No injuries were reported.

 
**INCIDENTS**
 
Brandishing a Weapon – On April 2nd at 5:20PM, police responded to the 19000 block of Red Oak Ln in Triangle (22172) for a brandishing. The victim, a 32 year old woman of Triangle, reported to police that the she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused allegedly retrieved a machete and approached the victim in the threatening manner. The accused never raised the machete towards the victim. A neighbor witnessed the encounter and approached the victim and accused. After exchanging words, the accused left the area. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, a warrant was obtained against the accused.

                Described as a white female, 5’5”, 128lbs, thin build with brown hair and brown eyes
                Wanted for brandishing a machete
 
Residential Burglary – On April 2nd at 4:29PM, police responded to the 3600 block of Jurgensen Dr in Triangle (22172) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00AM and 4:00PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. A laptop, Kindle, and gaming console, valued around $2,000, were reported missing.
 
**ARRESTS**
 
Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor – On March 31st, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit began an investigation into a sexual relationship involving a 17 year old female of Falls Church and the accused, a family member. The encounter was reported to have occurred in the 2800 block of Headway Dr in Woodbridge (22191) in December of 2012. The investigation further revealed that the accused had also solicited the victim for sexual acts via cell phone text messages during that time. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on April 2nd without incident at Dulles International Airport by detectives and members of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

Charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and using a communications system to facilitate offenses with a minor

                                                                                   **ARRESTS**                                                         
 
Narcotics Investigation – On January 9th, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop in the 7600 block of Somerset Crossing Dr in Gainesville (20155). During the encounter with the driver, identified as the accused, detectives conducted a search of the vehicle. As a result of the search, suspected heroin was recovered. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident. This arrest was previously held for investigative purposes.

                Austin Riley CROSBY, 20, of 5816 Hunton Wood Dr in Broad Run
                Charged with possession with intent to distribute a schedule I or II narcotic
Court date set for April 12, 2013, released on a $5,000 unsecured bond (at the time of arrest)
