Rotante, Salvatore (2).jpgResidential Burglary *ARREST – On September 27th, detectives form the Property Crimes Unit were able to link the suspect,  Salvatore ROTANTE, who was involved in the Canterbury Ln burglary, to a second burglary which was reported to have occurred on Lawnvale Dr earlier in the day on September 27th. Following the investigation additional charges were placed against the accused in connection to this incident.
                Arrested on September 27th:
Salvatore Michael ROTANTE, 18, of 5589 Tournament Dr in Haymarket
                Charged with burglary and petit larceny
                Court date: November 18, 2013 | Bond: unavailable
 
Residential Burglary [Previously Released] On September 27th at 3:59PM, police responded to a residence located in the 4200 block of Lawnvale Dr in Gainesville (20155) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:30AM and 3:30PM. Entry was made into the residence through a kitchen window. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.
 
Noory, Riaz (4).jpgAbduction | Domestic Incident *ARREST – On October 1st, officers located and arrested the accused involved in the domestic incident which was reported to have occurred in the 1600 block of Thenia Pl in Woodbridge on September 25th. The accused was arrested at the Inns of Virginia located at 951 Annapolis Way in Woodbridge without incident.

Riaz Ahmed NOORY, 22, of 12700 block of Hunterbrook Dr in Woodbridge
                Charged with abduction and attempted abduction

Abduction | Domestic Incident [Previously Released]On September 25th at 1:09AM, police responded to a residence located in the 1600 block of Thenia Pl in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic incident. The victim, a 25 year old woman of Lorton, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation at a residence in the above area. During the encounter, the accused allegedly attempted to forcibly remove the victim from the residence. Other witnesses were able to break up the altercation, at which point, the accused left the area. While investigating this incident, the victim reported to police that she was held against her will by the accused between September 14th and September 21st at his residence on Hunterbrook Dr. The victim reported that she attempted to leave the residence multiple times during that period of time but the accused prevented her from doing so. The victim was finally able to leave the residence on the 21st. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, warrants were obtained against the accused in both incidents.
               
**INCIDENTS**
 
Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling – On September 30th at 9:52PM, police responded to a residence located in the 17300 block of Rocky Mount Ln in Woodbridge (22193) for a shooting call. The homeowner reported to police that he was inside his residence when he heard what sounded like a gunshot coming from outside the home. Upon checking the residence, the homeowner discovered that a single round had penetrated the home through a front wall which continued into the kitchen area. No injuries or other property damage was reported. No suspects were seen.  
 
Residential Burglary – On September 30th at 6:12PM, police responded to a residence located in the 2700 block of Corbin Pl in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 1:00PM and 3:00PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured window. Two laptops, total value around $1,200, were reported missing.
 
 
Commercial Burglary – On September 23rd at 7:21AM, police responded to The Word Group located at 16800 Beverly Mill Dr in Haymarket (20136) for a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 2:00PM on September 21st and 5:45PM on September 23rd. Entry appeared to have been made into an office space and a separate trailer on the property. A fence which surrounds the property was also found damaged. A laptop and lawn equipment, total value around $7,400, were reported missing.
