Public Up to Bat on Stadium Issue

The public will have its first formal opportunity to weigh in on a proposed baseball stadium in Fredericksburg. City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday.
The Hagerstown Suns in Maryland have proposed a 30-year lease for a publicly financed, 5,000-seat stadium.
The Free Lance-Star reports that baseball supporters plan to hold a rally at 6 p.m. Tuesday outside City Hall. Suns majority owner Bruce Quinn and his brother-in-law, team minority owner Jeff Nelson, are scheduled to appear at the rally.
