Purple Carrots more popular than Orange?

A few days ago, I talked about buzzfeed's '77 facts that sound like huge lies but are completely true'.  And then I came across something else that's just as cool.  It's '60 food facts that will blow your mind'.

Did you know that chocolate at one time was used as currency?  Or that ripe cranberries bounce like rubber balls?   And that the most popular carrots used to be purple?
