Another historic event's being celebrated in Fredericksburg this Sunday.
In January 1777, Thomas Jefferson came here and drafted The Virginia Act for Establishing Religious Freedom and nine years later it became the basis for the religion clause in the First Amendment. The signing will be commemorated with a parade that kicks off at the Fredericksburg Train station. A ceremony follows at the Thomas Jefferson Religious Freedom Monument on Pitt Street.
