Three people became stranded in the Rappahannock River last evening had to be rescued by emergency personnel.
Stafford County Fire and Rescue units were called to the area of the river near the Falmouth Bridge just after 8 p.m. Three people were found on a rock formation about 40-feet from the shoreline..
Rescue personnel swam to the trio, placed life vests on them and brought them safely to shore.
None of the victims was injured.
