Russian Research Find Preserved Wooly Mammoth

by Associated Press posted May 30 2013 5:47PM
MOSCOW (AP) - Russian researchers say they've discovered a perfectly preserved carcass of a woolly mammoth on a remote Arctic island.
The frozen remains of the female mammoth were so well-preserved that liquid blood was found init, and scientists says it could be enough to try to clone the animal.
Wooly mammoths are thought to have died out about 10,000 years ago.
