MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - NFL great Sam Huff will be honored during West Virginia's game with James Madison at FedEx Field in Landover, Md.
The Sept. 15 game has been designated as "Sam Huff Day." Huff will be the Mountaineers' honorary captain and be recognized during ceremonies before the game and at halftime.
The linebacker led the Mountaineers to a 31-7 career record and a berth in the 1954 Sugar Bowl before a career with the New York Giants and Washington Redskins. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1982.
Redskins general manager Bruce Allen says the team is excited to thank Huff for his years of service and commitment.
