School Lunch Waste an Issue

It's a new school year, but an old problem remains when it comes to school lunches. A recent study by Virginia Tech revealed that 70-percent of the vegetables in the lunch were wasted, meaning the kids are not getting nutrients. The study also noted the economic impact of food waste in schools. The national school lunch program gets dollars from taxpayers. When food gets thrown away, funds also get thrown away.
