Skins and Eagles Once Played "Body Bag" Game

by Deirdre Blake posted Sep 9 2013 7:51AM
Here are a couple fun facts about the Skins ahead of tonights game. This Skins opener against the Eagles marks the first time the son's of Washington will open a season on Monday night since 2006 and it's only the 10th time since 1970. In 1964 it acquired Sonny Jurgenson from the Eagles in an even trade and years ago played a game known as the body bag game, knocking out nine Eagles players; including 2 quarterbacks.
And, some of you might be worried about Robert Griffen the third in tonight's season open against the Eagles, but he says he's ready. And history might be a sign. He's run for 815 yards and another seven touchdowns, taking the Skins to their first NFC East title since 1999. And completed 14 out of 15 passes in two wins over the Eagles. If you are early risers like us and have to miss some of tonight's game or others, it'll cost you, but you can watch all of them on-line after the game through www.gamerewind.nfl.com.
