So, When Should You Wash Your Car in the Winter?

by Frank Hammon posted Feb 12 2014 2:07PM
There's more salt on your car than on a pretzel. More sand than on Virginia Beach.
But when should you wash your car in the winter?
Experts offer two basic guidelines: -- 1.) When it's dirty.
You want to get rid of salt residue and deposits that can cause rust, says AAA. Waiting too long to wash can let the salt start to corrode the metal, experts say.
-- 2.) When it's warm enough. If you do it in frigid temperatures, that's when we see doors handles and locks freezing. Use 30 degrees as a good gauge. and after washing dry off the car or the dirt and salt on the road will kick up and stick to your car, again.
