It'll be a tough go for people traveling south on Interstate 95 this weekend.
The Virginia Department of Transportation is planning a full shutdown of the highway in order to lift steel beams in place near exit 148 in Triangle. The beams will form part of a new bridge that's part of an extension of the high-occupancy vehicle lanes.
Lane closures will begin at 9:30 p.m. Friday, and all southbound lanes will be closed by 1 a.m. Saturday. The southbound lanes will also close at 1 a.m. Sunday and 1 a.m. Monday.
The lanes will be closed for a few hours each night and reopen one at a time. All lanes will be open by 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and by 5 a.m. on Monday.
