Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office Incident Report

On April 25, 2012 at approximately 2:15 p.m. The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 11000 block of New Market Court for a report of a burglary. First Sergeant Carter was the first deputy on scene and met with the homeowner outside of the residence. As he was gathering information they noticed a black male in his early twenties exit the rear of the victim’s residence wearing a red sweatshirt and khaki pants. The victim verified the subject did not belong in the residence. First Sergeant Carter gave commands for the suspect to stop for which he ignored and a foot pursuit ensued. The suspect was initially lost in a heavily wooded area but deputies were able to quickly contain the area and call for a police canine to assist in locating the suspect. Deputy Truslow of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with the search for the suspect. The suspect was later found by Deputy Truslow’s canine partner and ignored multiple commands by Deputy Truslow and others on the scene. The suspect was then apprehended by Deputy Truslow’s canine partner. The suspect was treated for his injuries and charged with breaking and entering. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of coins which were recovered during the incident.
The suspect was identified as Roberto Vincent Toral 23, B/M from Stafford.
