Stafford Supervisor Injured in I-95 Accident

An accident involving a Stafford County Supervisor remains under investigation. State police report the accident happened Sunday night at about 8:30 p.m. along Southbound I-95 near Exit 143. 
Spokeswoman Corinne Geller says that 53-year-old Jack Cavalier had stopped his Chevy Suburban along the shoulder of the highway and was standing next to it in the right lane when he was sideswiped by a tractor trailer. The driver of the truck swerved to avoid hitting Cavalier ,but was unable to change lanes in time.
The driver of the truck immediately stopped and called authorities.
Cavalier was taken to Mary Washington Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  
Charges are pending consultation with the Commonwealth's Attorney.
