Teachers in Stafford County may or may not get proposed raises after all.
The interim superintendent now says they may be wasting time talking about salaries when nearly $13 million in unavoidable costs have to be covered first. Starting teachers in Stafford make less than those in nearby divisions, but tend to regain the lost ground after a certain number of years.
The School Board holds a public hearing on the budget February 11th. The Board of Supervisors takes up the county's real estate tax rate next Tuesday.
