Steelers RB Redman ready to carry heavy load

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh Steelers running back Isaac Redman says his journey from rookie free agent to NFL starter has changed the way he's received in his hometown of Paulsboro in southern New Jersey.
Redman says he is recognized more often these days and is even holding his first-ever football camp at his old high school next month.
It's a far cry from three years ago, when Redman arrived as an out-of-shape rookie from Division II Bowie State and needed a little bit of luck just to make the practice squad.
Now he's the No. 1 back for the Steelers while starter Rashard Mendenhall continues his lengthy rehab after tearing the ACL in his right knee in last year's regular-season finale.
Redman ran for 121 yards in a playoff loss to Denver and believes he can handle a heavy workload.
