Storm Leaves 89,000 in Virginia Without Power

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - More than 89,000 customers in Virginia are without electricity as a winter storm moves across the state.
About half of the outages are in Northern Virginia. Dominion Virginia Power reports 45,730 customers in Northern Virginia don't have electricity as of 8 a.m. Monday.
Dominion also reports more than 9,000 outages in the Richmond metro area, along with smaller outages in other areas it serves.
Appalachian Power reports about 7,600 outages, including more than 1,000 each in Amherst, Campbell and Henry counties.
More than 21,000 outages have been reported by Virginia's electric cooperatives.
