RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Utilities have restored service to thousands of customers in Virginia who lost electricity during a winter storm.
As of Tuesday afternoon, about 9,600 customers are without electricity. That's down from about 114,000 on Monday.
Dominion Virginia Power reports about 6,500 outages, most of which are in Northern Virginia.
About 2,700 customers served by four electric cooperatives are without power.
Appalachian Power reports 380 outages in Southwest Virginia. The utility says wintry weather on Tuesday could cause additional outages and complicate efforts to restore power.
