Suspect in NY Shooting Asked for Man at His Office

CLYMER, N.Y. (AP) - A coworker of the western New York school superintendent killed at his home last month says the Virginia man charged in the slaying had showed up at the district's office and asked to see the administrator.

Acting Clymer School Superintendent Edward Bailey tells WGRZ-TV in Buffalo that Anthony Taglianetti of Woodbridge went to the school district's office on Sept. 21 and asked for a substitute teacher application. Bailey says he also asked to see Keith Reed Jr., who wasn't in at the time.

Officials say Taglianetti fatally shot the 51-year-old Reed that same day outside his rural Chautauqua County home. Taglianetti was captured by U.S. Marshall a week later in Virginia and charged with second-degree murder.

Authorities say the 42-year-old Taglianetti is fighting extradition to New York.
