This Week's Sunday"Focus" Show is All About Helping Veterans

by Deirdre Blake posted Aug 8 2013 6:16PM
Many local service members returning home might not know about the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program.
It is part of the Virginia Department of Veteran Services. Executive Director Camilla Scwoebel says they work to find out what's going on with the person and their family and then link them to resources. It might be relationship counseling or a veteran special at the Virginia Employment Commission. They also have partnerships with Rappahannock goodwill Industries for help with writing resumes and getting other job skills. More jobs might also be available with their bridge to the Troops to Trucks or Troops to Teachers programs. Previous military experience could help speed the path to a civilian career in those fields and others.
Hear more from Schwoebel and two others about how Virginia's 800,000 vets can get help at 8:30 p.m. this Sunday evening on 93.3 WFLS, with the weekly public affairs show "Focus." It will also stream on-line here at www.wfls.com
