Events around the 150th anniversary of the civil war still are not done in our area. Crowds are expected for ranger-led tours at the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park this weekend.
There is also a Saturday evening event on Spotsy's Mountain Road. There will also be living historians and activities Saturday afternoon at the Orange- Spotsy line, to commemorate the Battle of the Wilderness' 151st anniversary.

Mixed reaction for the latest proposal to bring the minor league Hagerstown to the region after all, but maybe near the CarMax in Spotsylvania.
The team would lease the 5,000 seat stadium from the county for 150-grand a year, which would be overseen by Spotsylavnia Professional Baseball, LLC. The county would have to take major loans to pay for a chunk of the project. One of many meetings with county lawmakers is next Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., in the Holbert Building, off Courthouse Road.

You might want to give yourself a little more time to get where you are going today.
It might not happen again, but a Tom Tom study shows that this day last year was the most congested of the year on Northern Virginia and DC roads. It also ranks this morning and afternoon's commute as one of the worst of the week. The drive in tomorrow should be better though. It's ranked the best weekly commute in the region.

Stafford County is following the same frugal approach that could help us all have a better credit score and it's giving it a boost from a major investment firm.
Moody's Investors Service upgrades its' bond rating to Aa1 from Aa2. Lawmakers say the maintaining a balanced budget, only borrow for major capital projects, keep some money in savings and are conservative with forecasting money coming in. It means lower interest rates on future borrowing, more money to grow and hopefully, less tax hikes for local residents.
