Two people were injured in an accident this morning in Fredericksburg involving a motorcycle and a car. The accident happened just before 8 a.m. on Fall Hill Avenue at Wicklow Drive. All lanes of traffic were closed for approximately 30 minutes.
The crash occurred when the driver of the passenger car, a 2012 Honda Accord, pulled out of the entrance to Fall Hill Apartments and struck a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was traveling westbound on Fall Hill Avenue. Both the driver of the car and the motorcycle were transported to the hospital.
The motorcycle operator, a 63-year-old Mineral man, was lying in the roadway when the first officer arrived on the scene. He suffered significant, but it is believed non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Honda, Carla Griffin, 42, of Fredericksburg is charged with failure to yield the right of way.
