Thousands of federal workers slept in today, not by choice. Democratic Senator Mark Warner is praises Virginia Republican Congressmen who came out Tuesday saying the House needs to end the shutdown. Others say it should approve a spending bill that doesn't include changes to the new health care law although they oppose it.
On a conference call with reporters, Warner says "The government shutdown and a spending plan to end it is in the hands of the House. The new healthcare law is the main sticking point and many lawmakers say they are open for ways to improve it. The on-line healthcare exchange is now open through the end of the year.
