Most of us get embarassed or ticket off when we get stopped by a cop for speeding, but one Idaho woman on vacation that did wrote a thank you note to the trooper that stopped her.
She said she wanted to say thanks to the trooper being kind to her grandkids in the car during the stop. He apparently talked calmly to them and even gave them stickers. It mentioned that Grandma got her own sticker shock, but the letter didn't say how much she was fined.

3-D printing is all the rage. You can hit a button on your computer, which sends a file to a printer, which produces a small 3-D object out of plastic. Want a more hands-on way to make things? Enter the 3Doodler: the pen that turns you into the 3-D printer.
It's made by the startup Wobbleworks and is a $99 fat pen, not unlike a hot glue gun. As you move your hand, it leaves a thin trail of cooling, solidifying plastic. Move it around with a plan, laying down string upon string, and an object starts taking shape. The plastic costs $10 for packs of 25 sticks.

Thousands of people are trekking to a Bavarian farmer's field to check out a mysterious set of crop circles. The design was discovered by a balloonist last week and news of the find quickly spread online.
Farmer Christoph Huttner has told one news agency he didn't create the circle himself. Thousands of visitors have come to sing, dance and even swing pendulums in the giant image.

Talk about going against karma. Someone has swiped a 400-pound statue of Buddha from a Maryland man's back yard.
Jim Elliot says the statue was taken overnight Monday. It's made of solid granite and was a gift from a military buddy of Elliot's when they served in South Korea. He and police are checking online to see if the crook is trying to sell it on Craigslist or EBay.
