PALM BAY, Fla. (AP) - Police in central Florida say a 19-year-old is recovering after a botched attempt to jump over a moving car in Palm Bay.
Florida Today reports that Bladimir Barreto was conscious and bleeding when he was flown to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne after the Wednesday evening accident.
Police say Barreto was attempting the jump for a video to show his athletic prowess to college football recruiters. Barreto graduated from West Melbourne Christian Academy two years ago and played for the now defunct Brevard Grizzlies, an amateur football team.
Palm Bay police spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez says he's lucky his injuries weren't worse. Police say Barreto was likely trying to simulate videos he's seen on the Internet.
Barreto's brother was filming as another brother drove the car he tried to jump over.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - It was a very unusual delivery on a Philadelphia subway line.
Police say a woman riding the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority's Broad Street line told officers she gave birth aboard a northbound train Tuesday afternoon.
KYW-TV reports (http://cbsloc.al/OGCkgG) transit police Officer Loyd Rodgers and his partner gave the stork a helping hand after the woman approached them at the Olney (AHL'-nee) station. Nestled in her clothing was her baby boy, umbilical cord still attached.
Rodgers wrapped the newborn in a blanket and called for medics.
He says all activity in the busy subway station halted as riders snapped pictures and congratulated the new mom.
Mother and baby are doing fine at a hospital. The new mom's name wasn't released.

ACCOMAC, Va. (AP) - Virginia authorities are asking a vertical version of the question, why did the chicken cross the road?
Investigators are looking into a report that a piece of uncooked poultry fell from the sky and plunked a teenager on the head.
A state Department of Environmental Quality spokesman said Thursday the investigation will likely focus on the possibility the chicken was plucked from an improperly maintained compost pile.
Avian expert Bryan D. Watts tells The Daily Times he chicken part likely fell from the beak of a seagull.
Cassie Bernard was horseback riding Wednesday on Virginia's Eastern Shore when the 1-foot piece of processed chicken hit her on the head. Other riders saw several more poultry parts fall from the sky. Bernard was wearing a helmet and was not injured.

Elizabeth Escalona pleaded guilty July 12 to injury to a child. The young mother is scheduled to be sentenced Monday and faces up to life in prison.
Her daughter was in a coma for two days after the Sept. 7, 2011, incident. The girl and her siblings have since been taken into state custody. Police records show the toddler's siblings told investigators their mother kicked the girl in the stomach repeatedly and hit her with various objects before gluing her hands to the wall. She was in a hospital for a week.
Dallas police say Escalona was mad about potty training problems.
