You'll be seeing school buses back on the road for your morning and afternoon commute starting today, at least in Louisa County.
Students there are back in class today, but get another small break for the Labor Day Holiday. The new Thomas Jefferson Elementary School is now open, following the 2011 earthquake and a new High School will be ready next year. It's got a $53 million price tag, but will be complete with two gyms, an 800 seat auditorium and room for an extra 300 students. For some Spotsylvania students, Kindergarten orientation at Chancellor Elementary, is at 3:00 p.m. tomorrow. Student and parent day in Culpeper schools is this Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Students and teachers in Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George and Orange Counties and the City of Fredericksburg have a little more time for summer fun. The first day of school for all of them is September 2nd, but In Culpeper, it's back to class next Monday.
