by Frank Hammon posted Jul 9 2012 5:18AM
A line of strong winds smashed two buildings in Spotsylvania County and injured seven people Sunday afternoon.
The Free Lance-Star reports the storms struck the Four-mile Fork area after 5 p.m. ripping apart the Cheer Fusion All-Stars gym on Fleming Street. Seven were injured and four transported to Mary Washington hospital.
The cheerleading school was blown apart by the strong winds, thought to be a microburst, with the debris landing on a house next door. Nobody inside the house was injured, but the structure will liklely be a total loss.
About 8,500 Dominion Virginia Power customers are without service this morning whil nearly 700 Rappahannock Electric Cooperative customers are without electricity.
