Worker Severely Burned Installing Fiber Optic Line

A worker digging for the installation of fiber optic lines in Spotsylvania was severely burned this morning.
The accident happened before 9 a.m. at 7418 Heathrow Drive when the worker struck a power line. 
Spotsylvania Deputy Fire Chief Scott Heckler says the worker received second and third degree burns over 30-35-percent of his body. He was flown via helicopter to MCV Hospital in Richmond for treatment. The victim's identity has not been released.
Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
