Body found in Stafford identified

WFLS News

The body of the female homicide victim found on a ramp to I-95 near Garrisonville Road in North Stafford a few weeks ago has been identified as 23 year-old Jerryel Foster, of Baltimore County.

Corporal Mike Hill of the Baltimore County Police Department says her boyfriend allegedly killed her. "She was murdered here in Baltimore County and her boyfriend Frederick Allen Christian, who's a thirty year-old, who lived with her, he's now charged with first degree murder." Hill said Tuesday.

Hill said Foster was reported missing in late November. "What was so suspicious is that the day she disappeared the boyfriend had a sofa removed from the apartment that they lived in." Hill said.

Foster's partially decomposed body was found by an animal control officer the afternoon of March 2nd.

UMW President Awarded Generous Severance Package

WFLS News
University of Mary Washington officials cite Judy Hample's concessions to the school as part of the reason for a $217,000 severance package.

The deal is part of a modified employment agreement, signed earlier this month. The money is in addition to her $330,000 annual salary. The 62 year old will have been with the school for just under a year when she starts a sabatical on April 1st. It will last until her formal last day on June 30th. During that time, Hample will still live at Brompton and advise university officials. She will have to consult with the rector on any major employment decisions though and agrees not to sue the university.

A spokesman tells the Free Lance-Star that her willingness to give up her status as a tenured professor makes the settlement "fair and equitable." Officials also say such a deal is common when such an employment agreement is dissolved early.

Hample's career as the university's first female president has lasted just under a year and has been clouded with controvery in the university community. The board of visitors appoints a new acting president later today that will start the job on April 1st.
