(9/27-12/20) Financial Peace University is a 13-week, life-changing program that empowers and teaches you how to make the right money decisions to achieve your financial goals. The first class will begin on September 27. Each class is 2-hours long beginning at 5 p.m.

(10/24,10/25) Grab your glove and a bat! It's time for a softball tournament in honor of 3-yr-old Alysa Dye. She has MLD a rare genetic disorder that effects her nervous system. For more info, call 540-624-2901.

(10/25-10/28) Come and hear Evangelist Roger Roller preach Fall Revival Services at Mount Carmel Baptist Church (12714 Elk Run Road, Midland) at 7 p.m. Evangelist Roger Roller has been a Pastor to two Churches is in his 17th year as a full-time evangelist, Roger leads 25 to 30 revivals each year.

(10/30-10/31) Come to the scariest house around at Faith Christian Center World Outreach (10606 Benchmark Road, Fredericksburg) FREE Admission! 7-10 p.m.

(10/31-11/1) Get your hiking books on! It's time for the Germanna Volkssport Hike! Sponsored 5k or 10k hike at Motts Run Reservoir through wooded trails. Great for families or individuals interested in non-competitive walks. No cost to walk. Refreshments available.

(10/31) Harvest Festival/Trunk or Treat! Come to St. Mark's United Methodist Church (7803 Well Street, Manassas) from 3-7:30 p.m. The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity for neighbors to have fun together and bring back the feeling of being a community. This event will be FREE to the public and we plan to provide lots of fun and games! We will be having live entertainment, food, and lots of kid activities. The event will end with a Trunk or Treat at 6:30 p.m.

(11/2) LEAF COLLECTION in the City of Fredericksburg! 1st scheduled round runs through 11/6. The Public Works Department collects unbagged leaves near the street.

(11/2,11/4,11/6) ServSafe Food Safety Course! Family and Consumers Sciences teachers and managers of foodservice operations for hotels, restaurants, schools, daycares, and churches. This 16-hour course will cover the latest recommendations from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation on how to protect food from contamination through proper methods of food handling, storage, and sanitation. By successfully completing this course, you will receive a ServSafe Certificate good anywhere in the United States for five years. $150 per person. Register with the Virginia Cooperative Extension by October 19th.
