(3/21) "Used Bike Collection" The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a used bike collection on behalf of Bikes for the World, a sponsored project of the Washington Area Bicyclist Association, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit advocacy and educational organization. The bikes collected through this project are shipped overseas to non-profit partner agencies where the bikes are used to strengthen small business, generate employment, and facilitate access to health care and education for the working poor. The bikes will be collected in the St. Mary's Church parking lot, corner of Stafford Avenue and William Street in Fredricksburg, on Sunday, March 21 from 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. All used bikes-regardless of age, condition, or number of speeds-are accepted as long as they are complete and not rusted. If you have a bike to donate, please bring it to the church parking lot on the day of the collection. A monetary donation of $10 per bike is requested to help offset the cost of shipping the bikes overseas. Bike and cash donations are tax deductible and receipts will be provided for your donations.
