From the press release:

Matilda is the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her destiny. Roald Dahl’s beloved novel, produced as a film adaptation in 1996, is a Tony-award winning Broadway musical.

Witness the magic at Massaponax High School this July, 2019. Over two weekends of performances, students from our area schools will take the stage for Matilda the Musical. These performers, ages 4-18 join together to tell the story of a young girl gifted with strange powers.

The cast includes:  Matilda, Britton Johnston; Brent Kneipp, Agatha Trunchbull; Erin Davenport, Miss Honey; Nicholas Gregory, Mr. Wormwood; Natalie Masaitis, Mrs. Wormwood; Dehner Franks, Doctor/Escapologist; Amber Breivik, Ms. Phelps

Matilda the Musical celebrates the love of reading and learning, the wonder of childhood, and the great power of young people. Directed by Kimberly Kemp, Musical Direction by Paul Beaulieu and Choreographed by Caitlin Woodford.  All of our artistic teams are working with a professional, adult designer leading a team of students to produce the costumes, sets, props, lights and sound.
