Crocs Hurting Kids’ Feet?
The appeal of Crocs has puzzled people for years. We don’t wear them because they’re stylish, high-performance, or supportive footwear. In fact, it’s almost like we wear them despite all of that—because, let’s face it, they’re just easy.
However, a new report is giving parents a heads-up about potential foot problems in kids who wear Crocs too often. The concerns are similar to those raised about flip-flops or other poorly fitting shoes.
A podiatrist specializing in treating kids and teens says she’s seeing an increase in foot issues related to wearing Crocs all day. These include structural problems like heel and arch pain, and even hammertoes, as kids have to grip the shoes to keep them on, causing their toes to overwork. Plus, frequent use can lead to blisters.
So while Crocs are perfectly fine for occasional wear, wearing them all the time might take a toll on the feet, ankles, and even the rest of the body. But let’s be real—if Crocs haven’t disappeared yet, this news probably won’t change that!
